This is Why You Care What People Think.

Until you realize this, you’ll live your life through other people’s eyes...

You’re performing for them. That’s why you care what they think.

You’re not “too sensitive.” It’s not that you’re “not good enough.”

It’s that you’ve put way too much importance outside of yourself and in the hands of others.

You look to the outside and ask, “am I good enough? Is this alright? Is it okay to say this? Am I allowed to do that?”

Because you want to be chosen. You want to be included. You want to be validated.

How many times have you gotten an outfit and not wore it because you thought, “ugh, I might get judged.”

Or you post a selfie only to delete it a couple hours later because it didn’t get the amount of likes you thought it would.

Or you mentioned that creative idea you had to your friends and they shot it down… so in turn, you shot it down too.

When we live like this, we live as the puppet of everybody around us.

We say, “tell me what to do. Tell me what’s good. Tell me what’s okay and what’s not okay. Tell me how to live.”

Because we’d rather perform and be chosen than be real and get rejected.

Let that land for a moment…

Operating like this only results in a slow death though.

Whereas being rejected because you’re being YOU results in an acute sting, followed by lasting empowerment.

Which always, always outweighs the slow bleed-out of getting chosen for being something we’re not.

So if you want to stop giving a f*ck what people think, you have to start giving a f*ck about how you feel.

Period.

When you choose you and own it, your life will rearrange itself to fit that narrative.

And yeah, sure, people will still judge. There will never be a time when you aren’t judged.

But at least, for once, you’re being judged for being you, not a performer.

That’s how you find who truly vibes with you too.
