The Truth Shall Set You Free...

Just admit it.

When Jesus said, “The truth shall set you free,” he wasn’t just putting you on…

Time and time again I’ve experienced the remarkable liberation of energy that comes from simply… well… telling the truth.

Whether that’s admitting when you’re wrong, or revealing how you really feel to someone (or yourself), or owning up to something, when you tell the truth, you become free.

In a way, you become weightless. You’re not hiding anywhere. You’re not acting. You’re not putting on a performance anymore.

I just had a situation with my coworker the other day where he was demonstrating an easier, more efficient way for me to do my job.

I, obviously already doing everything perfectly, got frustrated and defensive. Because clearly he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and is just being complicated, right?

Clearly I know the right way, and he’s just being foolish…

But guess what?

When I did what he was showing me, it turns out he was right.

It was much easier and much more efficient.

And upon recognizing this, rather than getting embarrassed, righteous, and acting like I already knew it, I went up to him and said, “Hey man, you were completely right. I appreciate you.”

And we connected on a deeper level because of it.

So many relationships and friendships fall victim to one thing: us not being able to swallow our f*cking pride.

Don’t be one of those people.

If you did something wrong, own it, admit it, and move on.

Much love ❤️
