Stop Suppressing Your Feelings.

Your emotions are trying to tell you something...

How many of you push away negative emotions when they arise?

I mean, isn't it kind of natural? Doesn't it seem almost instinctual to reject negative emotions, sensations, thoughts, etc.?

While it may be the natural impulse to do so... Is it optimal for our self-transformation and betterment? Not even a little bit.

It actually makes things worse.

Our emotions act as messengers; they're trying to tell you something.

They're trying to queue you into something deeper and more underlying that's going on.

And the tricky part is that the sensual dimension of yourself can't speak in words, so it resorts to feelings.

It sends forth feelings to signal the attention of YOU, the operant power of your mind.

But every time you push them away (because they feel uncomfortable), you're robbing yourself of ever understanding the message they're trying to relay to you.

And see, the emotions are uncomfortable because they're SUPPOSED to be.

They're saying, "Hey, there's an underlying problem that's holding you back."

But the task is that it's up to YOU to determine what that problem is. The feelings are trying to get your attention so that you can audit your life.

So the next time a negative emotion arises, instead of pushing it away, ask yourself: "Is there a story this negative emotion is trying to tell me?"
