Get Outside Your Comfort Zone

Leaning into the unknown is how you transform your life.

I feel like we all need to get out more.

I feel like we need to leave our comfort zone far more than we deem feasible.

When you leave your comfort zone, you move into completely uncharted territory: you’re vulnerable, you’re raw, you’re exposed.

But it’s a beautiful thing, because it’s by venturing outside the familiar that our life truly begins to change. (And no, I’m not putting you on. I mean it.)

If you’ve never heard of stem cells, they’re a particular type of cell that is, in a way, able to become any type of cell.

It’s able to sort of become this or that; a skin cell, or a blood cell, or a bone cell, etc.

It can almost feel at times that when we leave our nest of familiarity that our body, mind, and soul is flooded with stem cells that are eagerly anticipating building a NEW YOU.

When you go outside the nest, you learn, you grow, you gain experience, you make mistakes, you realize things, you learn to like things, and stop liking other things. You truly do become a new person.

Traveling to me is an exquisite example of going outside my comfort zone. Although I’ve come to love it, it’s still a bit nerve-wracking every single time.

But every single time I travel, something profound happens: I have an awakening, or I learn something new, or I meet the love of my life, or I get an idea, or I see once again the magnificent, awesome power of this earth we call home.

I know people that don’t like to travel, and that’s okay. But it blows my mind.

Physically traveling for me is a metaphor of a spiritual voyage outside of what I call the known. And outside of the known holds all the potential in the entire universe.

It’s where my destiny awaits, and it’s where yours does too.

Much love, Devon G.
