FYI: Ready Never Comes...

Here’s the thing with “not being ready”...

When it comes to getting things done in our life, or taking action towards something we want… a lot of us get caught up really quick in what’s called analysis paralysis.

This is where, because you think you’re not ready, you need to “prepare” by “getting ready”.

You think you need to learn more, or you don’t have the right equipment, or you haven’t practiced enough, or you just outright think you’re not good enough yet, and you need to “get better”.

But here’s the harsh truth: you don’t get better by sitting around thinking about how you need to get better.

You don’t prepare by sitting around thinking about preparing.

Because you wanna know what happens when you do that?

You procrastinate. You put it off, off, off, further and further away into the future because you’re “not ready yet” and “need to prepare”…

When in reality… you’re never going to be ready and you’re never going to take action because you’re afraid.

That’s it. It’s as simple as that.

The fear of execution is the fear of the unknown. You’re not taking action not because you’re “not ready”, but because you’re afraid of the unknown.

So you tell yourself you’re “preparing”, when in actuality you’re postponing out of fear.

I’ve held multiple virtual live events with people over the past couple years. And guess what? I never knew what I was going to say or do at ANY of them.

But if you attended, you know I did pretty good.

With each of these events, I had been “preparing” for MONTHS. And nothing was happening.

And that’s because what I called “preparing” was actually just procrastinating, a lack of drive, and a fear of the unknown.

So then one day I decided that I was going to publicly announce the event, send out tons of invitations, and advertise it on all my different platforms.

Now I have a bunch of people showing up on a specific date to hear me talk about something…

You wanna know what this did? It DEMANDED me to take action. It demanded me to come up with the rest.

By taking the initiative and STARTING, it inspired me to show up the rest of the way.

And I do this in many different areas in my life.

So here’s this message in a nutshell: ready never comes. You’re procrastinating out of fear because you think you’re not good enough, and you’re using the excuse that you’re “preparing”.

But you’re more than ready. You just need to take the leap of faith and actually DO it.
